SHOPPING
Boston

Newbury Street starts at Mass. Ave (about a 10 minute walk from the Gryphon House) and goes to the Public Gardens. It is a great place to eat, shop or people watch. A nice tour from the GH is to take the Green Line to Park Street and walk through the Boston Commons and the Public Gardens, then up Newbury Street, shopping and eating your way back to the Gryphon House. A speed tour would be about a hour and a half. You could spend the whole day if you made a one block detour and also explored Boylston Street (Copley Square, Boston City Library, Trinity Church, the John Hancock Building and the Prudential Center), or, maybe that would be two days!

The Prudential Center is called the city under glass. Think about saving this trip for a bad weather day. Whether it is hot or cold, rainy or snowy, the climate inside the City Under Glass is always right.

Faneuil Hall Marketplace Located in the heart of downtown Boston, Faneuil Hall Marketplace is the nation's premiere urban marketplace. It combines the glories of the past and vitality of the present, with over 50 shops, 14 full service restaurants, 40 food stalls and Boston's most popular comedy nightclub. Take the Green Line to Government Center and then walk the one block to Faneuil Hall. Once you are at Faneuil Hall you are just a short walk to the North End and the Boston harbor water front. This can be a full day activity, most people will end up here more than once.

Cambridge
CambridgeSide Galleria A full mall experience in Cambridge. Take the Green Line to Lechmere Station.
